Springsteen Doc Crowdsources Itself

The makers of the new documentary Springsteen

16 Nov 2012
The makers of the new documentary Springsteen & I are putting the power of the internet to good use by letting it help make half of the film for them. They’ve put out  a worldwide call to fans of The Boss asking them to submit videos in which they share their memories, experiences and recollections about how Springsteen and his music have affected their lives. And all these clips, or at least the really good ones, are going to be cut together into a feature length documentary that will be distributed theatrically. “Springsteen & I is the ultimate collective filmmaking experience- for the people and by the people which will culminate in a unique feature music documentary, to be released in cinemas across the world in 2013. We will be editing the footage so do not worry about cutting out the ‘bad bits’- just be as creative as you can with a camera in telling your story and we will do the rest. You can even send us photographs, old footage or perhaps narrate over entirely abstract material – we want visually interesting films- so avoid simply talking into camera when you can! Exercise your filmmaker talents! Upload your files quickly and easily in any format by clicking the Upload button above and following the instructions. It doesn’t matter whether it’s shot on an iPhone or a professional camera- just send us the highest quality, least compressed footage you can.” Directed by Baillie Walsh, Springsteen & I is being produced by Ridley Scott Associates and Black Dog Films. Got a Bruce story? Make your video and upload it now!
