In November of 2010, Facebook launched their “Deals” platform. ICED Media enjoys a close working relationship with Facebook and as a result, we were invited to participate in this beta test, one of the most exclusive to date. ICED Media leveraged this opportunity on behalf of our client, Palms Casino Resort.
Objectives:
- Position Palms Las Vegas as an early adopter of social media and mobile marketing
- Create an incentive or reward that is appealing to guests
- Maximize opportunity by supporting launch press with blogger outreach
Solution:
The launch of Facebook’s “Deals” platform enabled retailers to offer a reward or incentive for customers that check in to their location on Facebook Places. ICED Media leveraged this opportunity on behalf of our client, Palms Casino Resort, and attended the launch in Palo Alto along with only 21 other beta partners worldwide. By offering all guests a third night for free, ICED Media was able to extend Palms coverage far beyond the organic features resulting from the launch.
Results:
- Palms Casino Resort was one of only 22 brands worldwide invited to launch during this exclusive beta phase
- Over 5,000 check-ins during the first three months of the launch
- Features on over 200 websites totaling over 40,000,000 monthly unique visitors
- Coverage on sites spanning genres from top news hubs, technology and trade, and deals and savings including WashingtonPost.com, TechCrunch, and AOL Walletpop
